Since 2005, Dr. Wilkerson and some staff members have devoted their time and talent to improve the dental health of Romanians. They look forward to their visit each year!
Lora (dental assistant), Julie (dental hygienist), Dr. Wilkerson, his wife, and three children donated their time and talent this July in Braila, Romania for a dental mission trip.
This was truly a life-changing event for the entire group. Their hearts were broken and at the same time captured by what they saw and experienced. Many of the 300 people they treated had never been to a dentist or dental hygienist. Some never heard of dental floss nor even owned a toothbrush!
Patients were treated from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm. Most of the dental efforts were on preserving the front teeth to save a semblance of a smile and dignity. Other common treatments concentrated on pain control to help ease their dental issues. We were pleased to bring so many smiling faces back to this dental neglected area!
